Creating Closet Space for Seasonal Attire

Hello Beautiful Soul!! After months of fashion based upon seasons, we all know that the transition may or may not be a smooth one. I’ve always struggled with transitioning from Summer to  Fall/Winter.  Who can relate? Making room for new attire is very challenging and scrambling for closet space is even more of a challenge.  HA HA HA ..

Exactly how do you store away past seasons’ wardrobe and display for the current season?  I previously stated, if you’re like the average girl, “closet space may already be a challenge”.

Below are ways many consumers have become storage Creatives while maintaining organization.

  • Storage containers, all being the same size , makes it useful for separating by categories and colors. It’s also beneficial because they can be staked while maintaining extra space.

  • If you have an additional room in your home, portable storage closets are an easy and affordable way to create a room without spending thousands of dollars building a custom closet. I attempted to create a custom closet in my home and boy was I in for a rude awakening. A local contractor quoted me $30,000 plus for a 3.5 x 15.5 space. If you can afford to go this route, by all means create a space tailored to your needs. As we all know,  custom closets display our personality but overall it is a great rate of return on your investment.

  • If you are an adventurer and love to travel, utilize your empty suitcases that are already stored away. For your larger luggage, you can store oversized pieces such as dresses, blazers, and coats. Keep 1-2 suitcases available when it's time to travel.

  • The easiest of them all would be to just simply MAKE ROOM and remove unnecessary items you consider to be outdated or just cant fit anymore. Donations are a great idea right now due to inflation and something you may consider invaluable can end up being someone else's treasure.  Besides, donations to charity make for an amazing tax deduction at the end of the year but most importantly can make a drastic impact in one’s life.

  • Plastic storage or vacuum bags in the past have created moisture causing mildew and discoloration of my clothes. Therefore, I would recommend utilizing fabric and non-woven material. They are very lightweight and easy to manage. Most are durable and easy to store underneath the bed.

Overall, make sure you create a warm space that makes your fashion experience an amazing one all year round.

With Gratitude,
